Hi Pierre,
I’m 6ft and 11 stone in weight. My personal preference for the North Face jacket would be small, medium fits but is a little loose in areas. It depends what kind of fit you want. I am wearing a medium in the photos but would choose a small given the option. I hope this helps.

Hey Meirion, it’s good to hear from you.
Are you wanting a jacket that you can both train and race in (lightweight)? The one I use the most is the inov-8 ultra shell pro. It’s super-lightweight so perfect for racing and great for training runs (less than 3 hours). I tend to train and race shorter distances, so if you’re after a jacket for ultras for example, then I would recommend something more heavy duty.

Good morning, I’ve just been reading through the jacket review as I’m looking for a new waterproof jacket for the cold wet Welsh trail hills. Reading through i have narrowed it down to the inov8 ultra shell pro and the Salomon bonatti pro.

I’m wondering out of the two which would be better suited for my needs

I have a couple of the Higher State jackets and they are very good value for money and perform great in all weathers. If you’re on a budget you can’t go wrong with them
